TODAY’S VERSE: Proverbs 16:16

“How much better it is to get skillful and godly Wisdom than gold! And to get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” [Amplified Bible (AMP) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation]

“Get wisdom—it’s worth more than money; choose insight over income every time.” [The Message (MSG) Copyright © 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2002 by Eugene H.  Peterson]

TODAY’S MESSAGE

In challenging financial times, like the ones we are all experiencing today, it is very easy to get caught in our need for money and financial security for obvious reasons. We all need to secure a living, especially those with family obligations. We all need to make sure we have enough to cover other necessities, such as insurance. And we all need to consider saving for our future years when our physical ability will not allow us to work anymore.

Being responsible for ourselves and our families and providing for their needs is very important; however, the focus on money and financial resources alone will never produce in us a healthy lifestyle in sync with our God-given design. Unless we choose to live in “survival mode” for the rest of our earthly existence, we definitely need something much more valuable and precious than money: godly wisdom.

I invite you today to take a moment and evaluate what is most precious for you right now, and to ask God for a deeper level of wisdom and understanding in your life to deal with all your present and future challenges and decisions. God will not only honor your prayer but will also work on your behalf so that you may experience the awesome results of trusting your Creator, Provider, and True Source of all wisdom. Trust me… there is nothing in the entire Universe more valuable than this.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for being The Great Provider of everything I am and everything I have. Thank You for life itself, and for the gift of love and friendship. Most of all, thank You for always being willing to grant us wisdom when we most need it. Teach me to trust in Your unfailing faithfulness while I continue walking and focusing on what’s really important in life. In Your Son Jesus’ precious name, amen.
