TODAY’S VERSE: Matthew 13:3-9
“…‘A farmer went out to sow his seed… some fell along the path… some fell on rocky places… other seed fell among thorns… still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop…’ ” [New International Version (NIV) Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society]
TODAY’S MESSAGE
Every day each one of us is given many opportunities to sow into other people’s lives seeds of righteousness, justice, peace and love in many practical forms. It may be through encouraging words, a smile, assistance or training of some kind, financial support, prayer, listening, sharing the Gospel message, you name it. And, for the most part, our sowing will be, or appear to be, a one-way effort, with no strings attached, with nothing received in return.
Despite the results, Jesus asks us to give… to shine… to help others. Despite the wait or how others react toward us, you and I as messengers of the Good News need to continue sowing our seeds. For the time will come when the seed that reached good soil *will* produce a harvest that will impact others and make a difference that might even bless us like we never expected or imagine.
As we continue implementing our new year resolutions and goals, let us keep planting. You never know who needs it the most…
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all the wonderful opportunities You will provide me to shine and make a difference in my world. Help me to be sensitive to others’ needs and be willing to share my blessings. This I pray in Jesus’ precious name, amen.
